It was a must win for the Dees, who started strong out the gates with star power forward Mitch Conlan zeroing in on the big sticks early.
Sam Sleigh's Nick Riewoldt-esque marking ability gave the rebounding backline a great target to transition the ball deeper into the forward line.
The midfielder and backs kept the Bloods goal-less at quarter time with great intercepting marks.
Toc’s turnovers were red lining as we let the Demon’s out the back door far too often.
The second quarter saw the demons really turn the screws, with the engine room beginning to link up well.
Stalwart David Gregory and Ben Neeson had the ball coming into the Toc backline too hot for the Bloods to handle.
Conlan, again, capitalising on the silver platter delivery as he always does.
James Gregory had defenders lost and going the wrong direction with his slick left foot, while also managing to jag a goal himself on the non-preferred foot.
The scoreboard told the story at half time with Toc trailing by 32 points at the main break.
An old fashioned “cook” from the coach saw The Bloods start to peg back the score in the second half with more intensity at the contest.
The stage was set for a team death-match with both teams not wanting to give up the 4 points.
Toc’s Tom Barker was having his best game of the season and was a stand out best player, getting into good spots and using the ball well from out on his wing.
Glenn Dominick went into the ruck in the second half and gave the Bloods some ascendency in the midfield. Rowe and Collins-Bye were their usual hardworking selves.
Jerilderie’s Brad Norton and Jye Holcombe dug deep and surged the ball forward at all costs, with Chris Marshall revelling in the tough contest.
Trethowan and the backs tried desperately to stem the flow of Bloods goals but Toc managed to kick 6 goals in the last quarter.
The Bloods may have run over the top of the Dees if not for a clutch, three goal last quarter performance from marquee forward Mitch Conlan, holding Toc off for a tough 19 point win.

The Reserves went into last Saturday’s clash against Jerilderie without Coach Kenny, after he woke up on Saturday morning with a bit of a cough and looked outside to see the wet and rainy conditions.
With players missing due to injury and prior commitments, the boys went into the game once again with a different look, but plenty of confidence from the previous run of wins.
The side started the game well, getting on top in the midfield clearances through the work of Riley Colston, Glyn Matters and Stevie Patten, coming back for his first game.
Despite the great work from the Mids, the Demons were on top across half-back winning plenty of ball to restrict Toc’s forward entries and rebounding well to put pressure back on the Bloods.
As the game wore on, the bigger bodies of the Demons started to lead the Bloods to the footy, and despite the scoreboard showing Tocumwal well on top, it was only due to some great defensive work led by Drew Eddy to restrict the Demons kicking a competitive score.
With the half time discussion centred around being first to the footy, young guns Jack Gowty and Harry John put their hand up in the second half with some great link up passages, getting the footy into the forwards and allowing the Bloods to keep the score board pressure right on the Demons.
With a six-goal lead at the last break it was always going to be difficult for the Demons to come back, but too their credit, they fought all the way to the end in a shortened last quarter to match the Bloods with a one goal apiece final term.

Meanwhile the side kept Tocumwal’s score to a minimum in the first half thanks to Tex Flack and Kyle Wilkinson in the backline.

As the under-14s kicked off the day, the conditions were not the best with a bit of rain and a wet oval.
But Toc’s young Bloods did not disappoint, showing rock solid defence, their midfield stepping up and their forwards kicking many goals.
Jerilderie had a hard day with everything seeming to against them, but the young side kept standing tall having no interchange.
Jerilderie’s Evan Lawton showed plenty of grit around the ground, never backing out.
Their backline kept the much larger Toc side at bay as much as possible, while Xavier Rorato and Bobby Moore’s attack on the ball were second to none.
