Teams came from near and far to participate, including four again from Bannockburn near Geelong.
Local sides featured predominantly at the business end of proceedings.
Each played three games on Saturday and a further two on Sunday over 14 ends, with last year’s winners Shane Laing, Bryan Kemnitz, Peter Chadderton and Mark Tasker the only team to win all five matches.
They played brilliant team bowls all weekend to make it back-to-back victories in this prestigious event.
The three teams who had won four games then played off over six ends to decide the minor placings.
The combination of Jamie Shields, Dallas Kitchin, Paul Snare and Tony Danckert were declared the runners-up after winning both of their playoff games.
David Hessel teamed with Ian ‘Dutchy’ Hunter, Lindsay Franklin and Graham Nisbet to finish equal third along with the team of Trevor Liddell from Echuca and locals Rob Morris, Mike ‘Charlie’ Donohue and Keith Hay.
It was another very successful weekend for the club, which is truly indebted to all the “repeat offenders” who continue to support these tournaments each year.
