Deniliquin’s Hamish Baker has been named in the Colston-Scammell Shield squad.
The squad will represent the Southern Riverina Cricket Council at the 2023 shield competition in Hay from November 5 to 7.
The 13 player squad will play three games, coming up against Murrumbidgee Cricket Council, Cricket Albury-Wodonga and Northern Riverina Cricket Council teams.
Those who play well at the competition may then be selected to represent the wider Riverina Cricket Zone in Bradman Cup games.

“Many thanks to all that tried out and made the effort to travel to trainings all over our wide zone,” the Southern Riverina Cricket Council said.
“The coaches have enjoyed helping each and every one of you progress your cricket.
“Thanks also to the coaches for giving up their time in pursuit of growing the zone, always being there when required and willing to help each and every child that came to our sessions.
“If you have missed out on selection, please keep an eye out for more rep trial opportunities including the Warren Smith Cup (under-16) and the Eagle i Machinery 3 Rivers Cup (under-13/under-15s), our Owen & Bradley Shield games (under-13s/under-15s).”
The Southern Riverina Cricket Council also issued a thanks to the clubs that “made their facilities available for us to run our sessions”, and cricket supporters across the region.
