It was a tight battle at the top for the men’s championship.
Matt Thomas and Jack Tonta coming out as the winner with 67, two shots clear of Vince Kelly and Jimmy Poka jnr on 69.
In the handicap division Terry and Clayton Howe combined to win the trophy with net 66, by a shot to John Penna and Alan Jenkin on 67.
In the women’s division the winners were Vicki Brunker and Prue Lloyd net 78, from Pauline Davis and Carol Hardman 84.
In the handicap section Margaret Radeski and Grace Tiri scored on countback to Kathy Simpson and Linda Brant, both pairs on net 66.
Last Friday was the Ritchies IGA Deniliquin Ladies Open, which was taken out by Vicki Brunker with 83 off the stick.
In the handicap divisions the A-grade winner was Ginny Lange net 74, from Marg Rothwell 75, and in B-grade Denise Hunter net 76 from Prue Grant 77.
Saturday was a stableford event and the first round of the Mark II Automotive Match Play Championship.
John Penna had a big weekend, preceding his runner-up prize on Sunday with an impressive 41 points to take out A-grade from Ross Taylor 38.
In B-grade Graeme Rothwell had 35 points to win on countback to Des Ramsey.
Last Thursday the ladies played versus par and the winner was Carol Hardman +3, from Prue Lloyd who finished square.
On Wednesday the scoring was tough in cold conditions.
A-grade winner was Peter Astill with 35 points on countback to Peter Joice, and in B-grade David Maraldo had 37 to win on countback to Graeme Rothwell.
The ball countback was a very low 30 points.

Coming up we have another busy weekend with a fourball best ball event tomorrow, which is also the first round of the Eastman Knockout, followed by the Nisbet Mixed Fourball Knockout on Sunday.
Next week the ladies will play nine holes stableford on Tuesday, it’s the usual stableford event on Wednesday and the Ladies Foursomes Championships over 27 holes on Thursday.
Next Saturday will be men’s monthly medal.
Singles pennant starts on July 16 and the club is aiming to fill two handicap teams and one scratch team, which will require 15 players.
Put your name on the sheet in the pro shop. The pennant season will be for five weeks.
Members are encouraged to support Friday night activities, and note the change to the raffle draw which now takes place at 7pm.
Raffle tickets will be on sale from 6pm. Meals are available tonight and tomorrow night, with reservations preferred.
Finally, if you can help out in the pro shop or on the course it would be appreciated.
Volunteers are still required in the pro shop, as well as for the ‘Adopt a Fairway’ program.
