The Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club was proud to host a junior tennis NSW regional matchplay series event on Sunday.

There were 46 entries, including 18 from the Deni area.
Others came from Hay, Griffith, Albury, Wagga and surrounding districts.
“It was great to see the Deni kids shining throughout the day, all showing exceptional sportsmanship which was fantastic to see,” Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club Juniors president Jon Gatacre said.
The Deni kids had plenty of wins with James Gatacre winning the under-12s boys singles and Isabella Knox winning the under-12s girls singles.
Charlotte Gatacre was runner-up in under-10s girls singles, Jack McGrillen was runner-up in under-12s boys singles, Olivia Armytage came runner-up in the under- 12s girls singles and Arabella Bliss was runner-up in the under-14s girls singles.
Deni kids also made it to the playoff finals after doing well on their round robin cards.
Henry Robinson and Toby Rae were in the under-14s boys singles and George Pisasale in the under-10s boys singles.
“Victoria Gatacre did a great job running the canteen as usual and other helpers included Edwina Knox, Peter Rae, Bianca Armytage, Bengy and Sophie Pisasale,”Mr Gatacre said.
“A special mention to Nathan Moore who has done an incredible job with all the juniors and was there all day supporting his pupils.
“It just goes to show how important a coach is to a tennis club.
“Finally thanks for everyone’s support - parents and kids alike - as these events can’t happen without local support.
“I encourage everyone to support the upcoming Easter tennis tournament which is always a huge success.
“There are under-14s and under-16s events for the kids, as well as plenty of adult and open events.”
