Deni RMS Junior Tennis Tournament

Deniliquin players Charlie Eastman (left) and George Pisasale were the winner and runner-up in the under-10 boys, respectively.

Under-12s boys winner Ben Taylor from Hay, under-12s girls runner-up Charlotte Gatacre from Deniliquin and under-12s winner Mia Noad from Griffith.

Deniliquin’s Emma Wettenhall was the under-14s girls winner.

Deniliquin’s Toby Rae was the under-16s boys winner.

A number of Deniliquin players returned good results at the recent RMS (Regional Matchplay Series) Tennis NSW tournament in Deniliquin.

Hosted at the Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club in Charlotte St, a small but competitive field of budding tennis stars from across the region were involved.

Some fantastic local results included Charlie Eastman winning the under-10s boys singles, with his fellow Deniliquin Junior Lawn Tennis Club competitor George Pisasale the runner-up.

Toby Rae also performed well, coming home from boarding school to take out the under-16s boys singles title.

He defeated his friend Jack Duffey, who has Deni connections.

Emma Wettenhall was the standout in the under-14s, claiming the trophy.

Charlotte Gatacre also shone in the under-12s girls, as singles runner-up to a visiting Griffith player.

It was great to see so many kids from Griffith Tennis Club and Hay Tennis Club supporting our tournament.
