While there are to be five added to the Hall of Fame this year, the team behind the Deni Rodeo is to be the only group induction.
It will be entered alongside Australian rodeo legends Dave Johnston, John Brearley, Mike Kenyon and Ray Townsend.
The ceremony will be hosted in the Douglas Feez Pavilion at Warwick Rodeo Grounds in Queensland.
Current secretary and treasurer Alan Calderwood will be one of two committee members making the trip to accept the honour in person.
“The presentation will take place on October 22 at Warwick in Queensland,” he said.
“I’ll be taking Jock Gray, our oldest committee member, to the presentation evening.”
The honour is national recognition for the years of work of the Deniliquin Rodeo Committee over more than three quarters of a century, since the North Deniliquin Rodeo committee was formed in 1951.
It also reflects the important role the local rodeo has played in the Australian Professional Rodeo scene over that time, with several historic riders and horses having graced the Deniliquin rodeo arena over that time.
More details on the nomination will be provided following the presentation ceremony.
Jock Gray, is a life member of the Deniliquin rodeo and started in 1952.
