Rod Reid’s team of Peter Harris, Chris Frampton and Archie Webster had a brilliant win on their rink.
Reid was back in form and Rich River could not compete, only scoring on eight ends and dropping two fives in the first five ends.
These Diggers were never going to be beaten and finished at 29-14 after 21 ends.
Niels Hilton skipped his team to a draw and Al Hodges, Jim Jennings and Ron Marchetti had a good competition all the way.
Rich River never gave up. It was neck-and-neck, with RSL only winning 10 of their 21 ends, taking them to a 16-all draw.
Craig Taylor debuted as skip in Midweek, and his team only scored on 10 ends.
Jo Chick, Ian McKenzie and Miro Peterman battled it out against a brilliant Rich River side, having shots in every end cut down by a driving Leon Sharp who found form on the 12th end.
The Diggers fell behind but held on and made a late comeback, picking up three in the last few ends.
But it was not enough, finishing on 19 shots to 24.
The win, draw and loss added up to a win overall for RSL, 64-54.
The Diggers picked up a handy 13 points to take their tally to 46 points and keeps them safely in fourth position on the Division 2 ladder.
With just three wins for the season, RSL are hosting top place Moama next week, who have five wins under their belt, and are looking for a miracle.
