Deniliquin Little Athletics club was represented by eight athletes at the Regional Carnival in Griffith on Saturday, February 4 and 5.

This regional event featured athletes who qualified via zone carnivals, coming from the Albion Park, Bowral, Cootamundra, Dapto, Kiama, Wollongong and Riverina Little athletics clubs.
Isla and Logan Andrews, Angus, Jasper and Oliver Dellwo, Frida and Lotus Gallpen- Brown and Sam and Xander Strong all competed on the new synthetic track, which was only finished two weeks before the event.
“We had some stellar performances from our athletes, with Xander finishing second in under-13 1500m and qualifying for the New South Wales State Championship in Sydney in March,” Deniliquin Litte Athletics life member Leanne Mulham said.
“Also earning a medal was Lotus, who came third in the under-9 girls 700m walk.
“All our athletes were first time participants at a Regional carnival and have learnt a lot from the experience.
“They made new friends and are keen to do even better next season.”
