The final combination of Tyler Hillier, John Flisher, Tony Tonta and Conway Bovell (skip) was never in trouble on the way to their 23-8 result, ensuring the overall victory, 64 shots to 44.
Division 2 was defeated on all three rinks, albeit only narrowly on two, with Moama claiming victory, 59 shots to 43.
Simon Chisholm’s team went down 10-21, Paul Snare’s was beaten 15-19, and Craig Hillier’s side failed by the barest of margins, 18 shots to 19.
Division 3 fell just short against Echuca when they succumbed, 60 shots to 62.
Ken Salter’s side was beaten 16-20, and Chris Taylor’s team claimed a 20-all draw.
Peter Todd then called the shots for Jenny Tonta, Ella Hipworth and Ken Bowden in their tough 24-22 win, but leaving them agonisingly two shots adrift overall.
Division 5 White remains a clear third on the ladder after they accounted for Echuca, 45 shots to 32.
Cheryl Bradley’s side lost a tight contest, 18 shots to 20, but Linda Harris led her team including Dawn McCulloch and Winnie and Lee Pattinson to a very comfortable win, 27 shots to 12.
Division 5 Blue lost no admirers in their top of the table clash with Moama when they fell five shots short.
John Murray, Tony King, Ian Chessells and Alan Hardcastle (skip) scored a close 19-17 win, but Col Knuckey’s crew was beaten, 16 shots to 23.
There is no Weekend Pennant this Saturday due to a general bye.
