While only four of the club’s sides made it to the top six this year, the Rams were in the spotlight as hosts of the first round of finals on Saturday.
The Rams’ netball hopefuls - A-grade and under-17s - were able to play on their home courts, in front of a strong local and visiting crowd.
The thirds footballers had to wait until Sunday to get their chance at finals action on Sunday, in Congupna.
The fourths had the weekend off, and will play this weekend.
The match report from the thirds’ football match are below.
Thirds
Finals footy was in the air as the boys took on Tongala in a do or die elimination final on Sunday.
We knew the boys were up for the fight right from the first bounce but unfortunately found it difficult to convert our forward entries trailing 1.2 (8) to 0.4 (4) at quarter time.
The Rams soon found their groove though and started to capitalise on some great passages of play and managed to keep Tongala at arms length for the rest of the game running out winners.
We look forward to the challenge of playing must win games for the rest our finals campaign. Go Rams!
Final score: 6.10 (46) to Tongala 4.5 (29).
Goals: Chase Bartlett 2, Jai Park, Andrew Smith, Charlie Bull, Tom Murray.
Best players: Oscar Wren, Charlie Bull, Andrew Smith, Luke Moorse, Charlie McCallum, Jai Park.
