Rovers A-grade suffered their first defeat of the season, going down to a fired-up Katamatite side.
From the opening whistle, Katamatite disrupted Rovers’ rhythm and capitalised on early opportunities, taking a commanding lead.
Despite strong defensive efforts from Chrissy Hurst and Natalie Sampson, Rovers trailed by nine goals at half-time.
They lifted in the second half and showed glimpses of their usual form, but couldn’t close the gap, eventually losing by six goals.
The team will look to regroup and refocus in the coming weeks.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 37 drew with Katamatite 37.
A draw may be better than a loss, but for Rovers B-grade it still felt a little hollow after a hard-fought clash with Katamatite at home.
Rovers started strongly, with Bell McIlwain returning to defence and Erika Martin stepping into the shooting circle.
The team settled quickly and held a narrow lead at the first break.
Katamatite responded with gritty, physical play, edging ahead by half-time.
In the second half, the introduction of young guns Amy Holloway and Ruby Cowley provided fresh energy and composure, helping Rovers claw their way back to level the scores before the final whistle.
It was a tough encounter, but one that showed Rovers’ depth and resilience.

Deni had a slow start, with a few fumbles early in the first quarter, allowing Katamatite the early jump.
However, the girls settled in and brought the score back level by quarter time, with accurate shooting from Jarrah Fitzpatrick and Paige Brown.
In the second and third quarters, the Rovers pulled away with intercepts and great passing options through the mid-court, and capitalising on defensive rebounds and intercepts.

C-reserve: Deni Rovers 50 def Katamatite 21.
C-res started the game on fire, with a 16-goal first quarter.
The momentum continued from there, securing a good win over Katamatite.
Some beautiful long outlet passes into the shooters from the mid-court caught Katty off guard.
Nicole Felmingham took advantage with accurate shooting, while the defensive end worked hard to secure rebounds with the team taking full advantage.

The Rovers girls delivered a commanding performance, showcasing intelligence, grit, and stamina from the first whistle.
Racking up an impressive 103 goals, it was a match to remember.
Ruby Cowley was unstoppable in the goal ring, working tirelessly to set screens and sink shots with confidence and precision.
Sienna Elphick brought maturity beyond her years, expertly controlling the tempo of the game with sharp feeds and crucial intercepts.
Isabell Macknight was a standout in defence, effortlessly cutting off opposition plays and displaying incredible vision across the court.

The girls took to the court at training this week with fresh intensity and positivity, with the aim of bringing that vibe to their game Saturday. They didn’t disappoint.
From the first whistle, they played with confidence, moving the ball down the court with fantastic balance and control.
Marlie Mison was again at her best, providing brilliant leads and feeding our shooters with ease.
Ava Braybon and Lilly Boyer were dynamic in goals, showcasing the skills they’ve been working on at training.
Nina Glowrey got her mojo back in defence with great one-on-one pressure and taking some spectacular intercepts.

Under-13s: Deni Rovers 32 def Katamatite 7.
The under-13s had an excellent match this weekend.
The girls were once again supported by under-11s players Harper Bulmer and Peggy Holden, who showed flexibility on the court in their attack and defence.
Maddie Woolston and Sophie Bulmer’s cohesiveness as an attacking duo worked exceptionally well, getting the ball down to shooter Madison Danckert.
Isabella Goodear stepped up to circle defence in GK alongside Lara Redden, putting on the pressure with tight defence.
Indi Conallin brought her speed and agility to the centre, outpacing her opponent and providing vital support around the circle edge.
The girls are continuing to build their plays and strategy throughout the second half of this season.
