Rovers continued their impressive form with a strong win over Waaia at home, displaying grit, composure, and relentless pressure across all four quarters.
The defensive trio of Chrissy Hurst, Natalie Sampson and Erika Martin were outstanding, consistently reading the play to produce crucial intercepts and rebounds that halted Waaia’s momentum.
Their tight marking and anticipation set the tone early and laid a solid foundation for the team.
In the mid-court, Chloe Way delivered a composed performance, disrupting opposition play with timely interceptions and providing valuable support in transition.
Hazel Glowrey was a standout with her exceptional endurance and court coverage, linking defence to attack with sharp decision-making and precision feeds into the circle.
Up front, the attacking combination was in top form.
Chloe Brown took control with her calm play and smart ball distribution, ensuring a steady supply into shooters Carissa Bulmer and Abbey Wills.
The pair capitalised on every opportunity, combining dynamic movement with accurate shooting to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
It was a well-rounded, cohesive team performance, with each player stepping up and supporting one another across the court.
The Rovers continue to set the standard with their unity and determination.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 43 def Waaia 33.
Rovers emerged victorious after a fiercely contested clash with Waaia, in a match marked by intensity from the opening whistle.
Both sides came out strong, but it was Rovers who stuck to their game plan, forcing key turnovers and converting them into early scoreboard pressure.
Their determined teamwork paid off, with Rovers heading into half-time with a commanding nine-goal lead.
Waaia, however, responded with a spirited third-quarter comeback, narrowing the margin to just two goals and setting up a thrilling final term.
Rovers rose to the challenge in the fourth, producing their best quarter of the match.
Defenders Georgia McCulloch and Erika Martin were rock-solid under pressure, while centre Sienna Jenkins made smart decisions through the mid-court to keep the ball moving.
Bell McIlwain stood tall in the shooting circle, finishing with composure to help seal the win.
Coach Tim Van Lieshout praised the team’s determination, unity, and resilience, commending their ability to regroup and finish strong in a well-earned victory.

C-grade started with visible nervous energy, reflected in rushed passes and missed opportunities, which allowed Waaia to take an early lead.
Despite several intercepts around the court, the team struggled to maintain composure.
A strong comeback in the third quarter narrowed the margin to just two goals, but in a game that was hard to adjust to the girls couldn’t quite close the gap.
Britt Kirby was a key contributor, offering plenty of options and defensive pressure.
Monty Jones stepped up in an in-ring defensive role and Ava Robinson delivered her best game of the season so far.

C-res secured a solid 10-goal win over a taller Waaia team.
Shanè Bothma was a standout in the first quarter, taking six intercepts.
Unfortunately, the team couldn’t convert all of her efforts immediately, keeping the game close early on.
The second quarter followed a similar pattern until the team introduced additional height into the goal ring, which improved accuracy and rebounding.
The girls fought hard to maintain their lead and eventually secured the win.

Under-17s: Deni Rovers 51 def Waaia 34.
The Rovers brought determination, teamwork, and heart to the court in what was an intense and exciting game of netball against Waaia.
Ruby Cowley and Bae Willis lit up the goal ring, combining beautifully and showing great timing and chemistry.
Their relentless effort to maintain possession and convert scoring opportunities kept the pressure on Waaia throughout the match.
Down the defensive end, Ruby Pisasale was a standout in wing defence, guarding the circle with grit and focus.
Her ability to read the play led to multiple intercepts and pick-ups, giving the Rovers crucial turnovers when they needed them most.
The game was a clear reflection of the girls’ commitment and hard work on the training court.
Each player gave it their all, and their growth as a team continues to shine through.

The girls produced their best four quarter games of the year this week with an outstanding win against Waaia.
With improvements in front cutting, strong passes and positive voice the girls got off to a fast start scoring the first six goals of the game.
Lilly Boyer found her range in the goal ring and turned into a formidable defender on transition.
She was supported beautifully by Amelie Bulmer through the mid-court who continues to go from strength to strength, providing beautiful drives and feeding the ball from the goal circle.
Jorja Woolston took the court in the second quarter and immediately made an impact, creating turnovers and taking clean intercepts.
With plenty of changes made at each change the team adjusted and continued to build on their lead throughout the game.

Under-13s: Deni Rovers 33 def Waaia 2.
The u13s were able to bring home a triumphant win against Waaia, scoring 33-3.
Shooting pair Madison Danckert and Indi Conallin worked well with coordination to begin the game on the strong foot.
Isabella Goodear made her debut in centre, bringing her fierce defensive skills to turn over ball after ball.
Lara Redden and Meg Meharry kept our opponents from scoring with their tight and consistent defence.
Our mid-courters Sophie Bulmer, Maddy Woolston, Isabelle Didcock, and Khoa Unwin were able to mark their players and drive hard onto each pass to create seamless transition between possession.
The girls continue to go from strength to strength this season, and are eagerly looking forward to our next match.

The Deni Rovers girls gave it their all on Saturday, as they took on a strong Waaia team in a competitive and spirited game.
Right from the first whistle, the Rovers showed great teamwork and energy, working together across the whole court.
It’s clear the team is improving each week. Their passing, positioning, and communication have all come a long way, and they’re really starting to gel as a group.
The coaches and supporters were proud of how the girls played and supported one another throughout the game.
