We had 11 pairs competing in first division and eight pairs in second division, a total of 38 players.
As the night became long, it was decided to postpone the final eight in the first division event.
This will be played at a later date agreeable to all involved, and a full report will then be submitted.
The second division, however, was able to be completed.
In the first semi-final, Geoff Ward and Shane Valentine proved too good for the pairing of Kodye Clark and Kane Martin.
In the second semi-final, the ladies pairing of Dolly Dunne and Penny Gritty fell to Terry Heaney and Karlo Torlao.
The final was then between Geoff and Shane, playing Terry and Karlo.
Playing best of five legs Geoff and Shane took a 2-1 lead, and it looked like it might be all over but Terry and Karlo had other ideas.
Showing true grit, they dug in and won the next leg, which included the hundred peg of Karlo’s, 20, double 20, double 20, top stuff.
This forced a one-leg shootout.
It could have gone either way with both pairs having a shot at a double, but it was Terry and Karlo who reigned supreme when they found a 38 peg, leaving Geoff and Shane with just 23 remaining.

Along the way, Michael beat Geoff Ward in the first semi-final, and Zeb took out Penny Gritty in the second.
Playing in four groups, each group playing a round-robin among themselves.
The top two players in each group then progressed to the knockout stage.
The night produced some top-quality matches with 3x180s being thrown, 1 each by Michael Bajowski, Greg Williams and Kane Martin.
Point winners in week 1 were Michael Bajowski with 8, Zeb Boslam with 5, Penny Gritty and Geoff Ward with 4 and 3 respectively.
