In the A-grade competition, Shepparton Lawn Blue continued its dominant season, defeating Kialla Park 7-45 to 1-11, while Mooroopna Lawn beat Shepparton Lawn Green 8-48 to 0-21 in an equally one-sided affair.
These results widen the gap further on the table, with Shepparton Lawn Blue well clear on top, sitting on 28 points and Mooroopna Lawn not far behind on 16.
In B1-grade action the top three picked up points, with Shepparton Lawn Green defeating Mooroopna Lawn 7-47 to 1-23 and Shepparton Lawn Yellow downing Kialla Park Green 4-40 to 4-31.
Kialla Park Gold continued its winning ways, defeating fourth-placed Tatura Lawn, 6-44 to 2-26, while Shepparton Lawn White defeated Shepparton Lawn Blue, 5-40 to 3-28, in the Shepparton Lawn derby.
The pick of the B2-grade competition was a match between Mooroopna Lawn and Shepparton Lawn, with Mooroopna losing by one game, 4-31 to 4-32.
This contest could have gone either way throughout and a big last set win from the duo of Harry Cameron and Caden Ratcliff got Shepparton over the line.
However, this close contest was not the match of the day; that honour goes to the cracking draw played out in C1-grade.
In C1, Tallygaroopna and Nathalia Lawn ended with a result of 4-36 after eight sets.
This match too could have gone either way, with each side winning four sets and every player participating in a winning game.
It was the last two rubbers where this contest was decided, with a big 6-3 result from Tallygaroopna’s Lloyd Akers and Bohdi Lee over Bridie Wilson and Lucy Daniel meaning the result could go either way.
Yet after a close-fought 6-4 win to Tally’s Ty Davidson and Alex Phillips over Katelyn Halden and Jayce Limbrick, the scores ended up even in what was certainly the match of the round.
