Violet Town FNC will also honour its flags of old in round seven, when it celebrates premierships from the 1982 and 2012 seasons.
Undera president Steven McDonald said paying respect to past players and members was a big part of the culture at the club.
“Essentially the day is to acknowledge and appreciate, to remember where we’ve come from and how we’ve got to where we are now,” he said.
“That’s where our culture comes from, it’s the backbone of our club and it’s how we’ve got to where we are now.”
The premiership-winning 1962 side, which defeated Tallygaroopna in the big dance, was led by club legend John Sellwood who was also president at the time.
Integral to the side’s win in ‘62 was Pat Sleeth, who became a mainstay in the side right through until the club’s next premiership success in 1972, when the seven-time best-and-fairest winner and three-time league medallist would captain and coach his side to a memorable victory.
Sleeth suffered a serious shoulder injury during the game, but played through to secure a historic 9.8 (62) to 7.10 (52) win over reigning premiers Tallygaroopna.
The Towners will welcome past players this weekend for their match against Nagambie, when heroes of the 1982 and 2012 seasons get together for their 10- and 40-year reunions at Honeysuckle Reserve.
A gallant 1982 side, led by Tony Levy and young gun Andrew Knowles, secured Town’s first flag since 1961 in a 13.10 (88) to 10.13 (73) win over Bonnie Doon.
Then in 2012, Hayden Lamaro, son of club great Ray “Daffy” Lamaro, led an undefeated Towners outfit to a comfortable 76-point triumph over Undera in the final.
Spectators may be spoilt for choice as to where to head this weekend, with a number of intriguing match-ups in the other KDL clashes.
Lancaster and Merrigum, both sitting at 4-2, will be looking to sneak past each other in a clash on Lancaster’s home turf.
Tallygaroopna will have a big job to do when the Redlegs welcome an undefeated Avenel.
As will Longwood, who takes on top-of-the-table Shepparton East at home.
Girgarre will be eager to atone for a narrow defeat against Merrigum last time out, but faces a serious challenge in the form of Murchison-Toolamba.
On Sunday, Rushworth and Dookie United will go head-to-head at the Tigers’ home track.
