The Lakers were at their brutal best on both sides of the court in the win against the Lions, sending a message to their fellow contenders with the 30-goal win.
Nagambie coach Katie Sullivan said she was incredibly proud of how her side went about it.
“We were really happy (with the performance). Another 30-goal win is always pleasing and gives us plenty of confidence,” Sullivan said.
“Going into it we weren’t really sure, we knew Stanhope were a relatively new side with a lot of new players, so it was good to see us go over there and put in a good performance.”
Sitting in third spot on the ladder after four strong victories, Sullivan said the cohesion among the girls had been a highlight of their hot start to the season.
“We have got a really strong bond this year which is lovely and it is really showing on court with the way we are playing,” she said.
“Having that excellent mix of experience and youth has had a big impact as well, and while we didn’t play our best netball on the weekend, we were still able to turn it on when we needed to and come away with the 30-goal win.”
The Lakers sported plenty of winners across the court and Sullivan made special mention of two players who went above and beyond with their efforts.
“Once again, Alicia White had a great game and was just in everything with her pressure and ability to impact on both ends,” she said.
“And our incentive prize for the day went to Ebony Peters, who has just been playing a huge role for us this year. This is her first season of A-grade and she was a massive standout on the weekend.”
Avenel recorded its first victory of the season with a crushing 62-36 triumph over Undera.
The Swans will be hoping the 26-goal win will help kick-start their season, as they currently sit in 12th spot on the table.
Dookie United has leapt inside the top four following a gritty 44-34 win over Murchison-Toolamba.
Merrigum waltzed home 58-42 over Violet Town, while Shepparton East was dominant in recording a convincing 52-15 win over Girgarre.
