There’s no stumping Kepler Lukies when it comes to his cricketing future.
The Katamatite youngster recently earned selection in Victoria Country’s under-17 Male Emerging Players Squad.
Lukies, a promising left-arm spinner, joined Cricket Shepparton talent Ashton Young in the 22-player squad.
The program’s pre-season phase started on Sunday with players spending time at Melbourne’s Junction Oval under the scrupulous eye of Victoria Country head coach Shane Koop.
Lukies, who was recently called up to the Phillipines national side, will partake in games during the September school holidays ahead of some further trial games in October, while January’s National Championship teams will be finalised in November.
The exciting prospect was named player of the match for Phillipines in a recent clash against Vanuatu in the Twenty20 World Cup qualifiers.
Lukies picked up stunning figures of 5-10 in the three-wicket loss.
