Braden Leech and Liam Pitts teamed up to score 86 points and win the 36 hole event at the Winter Classic.
The ladies’ 36 hole winners were Shandra Simpson and Marg Rothwell with 79 points, on countback from Pauline Davis and Carol Hardman.
Men’s runners-up were Graeme Rothwell and Peter Hayes with 85 points.
In the 36 hole scratch events, men’s winners were Mick Barnett and Jack Tonta 65 and ladies winners were Ginny Lange and Sarah Lugsdin 44.
On Saturday the men’s winners were Des Ramsey and John Wacheke with 44 points on countback to Jeremy McMahon and Hugh Sutton, and in the ladies the winners were Pauline Davis and Carol Hardman 42 from runners-up Jane Glowrey and Prue Chalmers 39.
On Sunday the men’s winners were Todd Marshall and Ben Irwin 46 from runners-up Brodie McQuie and Scott Atley 45, and ladies winners were Ginny Lange and Sarah Lugsdin 42 from Shandra Simpson and Marg Rothwell 41.
Last Thursday was a medley stableford won by Jimmy Poka jnr on 36 points from runner-up Leigh Chappell 34.
On Wednesday the A-grade winner was Graeme Willoughby with 36 points from runner-up Geoff Corboy 35, and in B-grade Graeme Rothwell had 39 to win by a comfortable six points from runner-up Lee Pattinson.
Today will be the Ritchies IGA Ladies Open Tournament.
This weekend, we have a stableford event tomorrow which is the first round of the matchplay knockout.
Players are asked to note that they should use the matchplay index on the back of the card.
On Sunday our club hosts the WRDGA fourball championships.
Next Tuesday the ladies will have a 12 hole Canadian foursomes game, then Wednesday and Thursday are stableford.
The following Saturday is fourball best ball.
Singles pennant starts on July 16 and the club wants to fill two handicap teams and one scratch team, which will require 15 players.
Put your name on the sheet in the pro shop. The pennant season will be for five weeks.
Next week the club will host the Legless and Blind Roadshow, featuring Mike Rolls and Ben Pettingill.
Mike has some great golfing stories to tell, including how golf was a catalyst to regaining his motivation after losing both legs as a teenager.
The Legless and Blind ladies night on Tuesday is booked out, but tickets are still available for the men’s night next Wednesday, June 21, from 6pm.
A free meal is included and there will also be a lucky door prize, comprising a round of golf for four with two carts and $50 to spend at the club.
