A full program with pleasant weather predicted is set to thrill supporters with an action packed weekend of sport.
Deni Rams and Deni Rovers also have teams waiting for the following week’s round of finals, earning themselves a weeks rest.
The Deniliquin Rovers will host preliminary finals action next Saturday, September 2, with Mathoura taking hosting duties the following day.
Local games set for this weekend are as follows:
Picola League:
The Picola Football Netball League heads into semi finals this weekend, with Mathoura, Blighty and Deniliquin Rovers all to feature.
The finals for Saturday, August 26 will take place at the Waaia Recreation Reserve.
First up at 10.25am is the Under-13s with Mathoura taking on Strathmerton.
Mathoura will also play in the C-reserve final at 11.50am against Waaia.
In footy action the Deni Rovers reserves will take on Katandra starting at 12.30pm.
The finals scheduled for Sunday, August 27 will be held at the Katamatite Recreation Resreve.
At 9.20am the Deni Rovers under-15s will play Jerilderie.
The Deni Rovers under-17s will play against Strathmerton at 10.25am.
The Blighty under-13s will also play at 10.25am against Tungamah.
Murray League:
The Deniliquin Rams will feature on both days of the Murray League elimination finals on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, the games will be held at the Numurkah Showgrounds.
The Deni Rams under-17s will play against Echuca United at 9.30am.
Sunday’s games will be played at Echuca South Recreational Reserve.
The Deni Rams fourths will play Rumbalara at 9.15am.
Deni Rams C-grade netball will play Nathalia at 10.45am.
The Deni Rams B-grade netball will be against Congupna at 12pm.
The action will then switch to the football where the Deni Rams reserves will take on Moama at 12.20pm.
