On Thursday, June 12, three long-distance runners from Mathoura Public School took to the bush track in Gundagai, participating in the Riverina PSSA Cross Country event.
Despite the cold conditions, the talented squad representing Deniliquin and District displayed remarkable determination and skill, achieving impressive results.
Sophie Eddy (11 Years Girls) and Zaria Wilson-Baker (8/9 Years Girls) both finished in the top six, enabling them to qualify for the NSW PSSA Cross Country Championships, set to be held in Sydney on July 23.
For Sophie, this year marks her fourth consecutive year competing in cross-country at the state level, while it is Zaria's first time competing at the NSW PSSA Cross Country Championships.
Mathoura Public School wishes Sophie and Zaria all the very best.
