A fabulous game today with a nail-bitingly close match from start to finish.
The girls were locked even after the first quarter and held a narrow two-goal lead going into halftime.
Erica Nicholls displayed outstanding determination, playing a full game at centre. She continually reoffered, applied relentless defensive pressure, and delivered strong feeds into the shooting circle.
Monique came out firing, starting the game with intensity and creating brilliant passages of play alongside Ash in the circle.
Chelsea Weir demonstrated her connection with the shooters by feeding the ball with accuracy and timing.
In defence, Stevie worked tirelessly to create turnovers, showing true grit and commitment throughout the game.
Dakini Hall stepped up in wing defence, fulfilling her role consistently and effectively.
Steph maintained her pressure on Mathoura’s shooters all game, never backing down.
It was a fantastic team effort today—I couldn’t be prouder of how all the ladies performed.

B-grade: Blighty 12 def by Mathoura 50.
The girls played a fabulous game today, with many of our juniors stepping up to the challenge.
Tara once again showed her determination in defence, applying strong pressure and working effectively with Jane Napier to create key turnovers.
In the goal circle, Cody, Chloe, and Amelia combined well to generate great movement and opportunities.
Dakini applied solid defensive pressure, with Krystle working closely alongside her, both backing each other on loose balls and contesting every play.
Amelia made a strong impact on the attacking end, especially impressive after already playing a full game in the under-17s earlier in the day.
Emily and Ruby stepped into wing defence with confidence, creating pressure and doing a fabulous job when provided the opportunity.
Although it wasn’t our day in the end, the girls continued to play with determination and high spirits right to the final whistle.
As a coach, it’s truly rewarding to see the remaining players in B-grade continue to show up each week and give their all.
I’m incredibly proud of their ongoing commitment and effort.

C-grade: Blighty 27 def by Mathoura 37
C-grade took on Mathoura today in a tight and exciting game!
The girls fought hard right to the final whistle, but unfortunately went down by 10 goals to a strong and determined opposition.
In defence, Ruby Williams, Niccola Stanworth and Amelia Fraser worked tirelessly to shut down Mathoura’s attack and keep the pressure on.
Their efforts in the ring were relentless and showed real grit.
Backing up after already playing in C-Res, Grace Reid, Alena Larmour and Grace Macdonald gave it their all once again.
Alena was unstoppable, putting in 100 per cent and working seamlessly in goals with Rachel Bucholtz.
Grace Reid pushed through with strength and determination, playing another solid game across the court.
In Centre, Mikayla Collie continues to impress week after week.
Her positioning, quick-thinking and sharp passes stood out again today – she makes that ball hers every time.
Grace Macdonald earned herself an award this week with a strong performance – making great space, attacking the ball and cleaning up loose passes when it mattered most.
Emma Brain showed her versatility after hurting her fingers, stepping into WA and absolutely owning it!
She picked up some beautiful intercepts and fed the ball into the ring with precision.
Well done, girls on another fabulous game!

C-Reserve took on Mathoura this week with fire in their bellies and determination like never before — and they did it!
It was a tight, hard-fought match, with the Redeyes trailing at half-time.
But the girls came out strong in the third quarter, dominating play and turning the game around!
Alena Larmour was outstanding, playing both GA and C with grit and determination.
Her unwavering work ethic all season shone through again today.
Grace Reid gave it her all, as she always does!
Her shooting was on point, and her ability to find space and move the ball down the court was exceptional.
Sarah Nihill continues to grow with every game and has come such a long way since the start of the season.
She stepped up big time in C and WA and played a fantastic game!
Our defensive unit — Sarah Bain, Grace Ingram, and Lara Elphinstone — worked seamlessly and tirelessly to keep Mathoura from scoring.
Their pressure and teamwork were crucial to today’s win.
Veteran Chris Hall was a superstar once again.
She never stops, never gives up, and played an exceptional game across the court!
To say I’m proud is an understatement.
These girls have worked so hard all season, and their improvement and commitment showed in today’s result.

Under-17s: Blighty 40 def Mathoura 34.
This week we met timber cutters on their home ground.
After a week off, our girls had a very sluggish start! The team trailed by 5 in the first quarter.
After a few position changes and extra hard work, the girls managed to claw back to even scores at three quarter time.
Then after a strong pep talk, the girls came out firing in the last term and came away with a win.
Special mention to Lily Peterson who stepped up from 15s and played a pivotal role in shooter under immense pressure, well done Lily!
Very proud that the girls had the ability to keep pushing and turned the game around! Well done!

Under-15s: Blighty 9 def by Mathoura 58.
The Redeyes came out firing today, with a cracking first quarter.
We had a new combination in the shooting ring, Ellie Miller and Lily Peterson worked beautifully together, creating space and movement throughout the ring to work the ball into a goal.
The girls persevered through tough one one-on-one defence, applying their own pressure down the court.
Amy gave direction and strength down in the mid, providing the guidance the girls needed to maintain the flow of the game. Lucy took in feedback and was constantly working hard in the attacking end.
The girls played tremendously together, even though we had a couple away.
The score didn’t reflect the game at all, and all our Redeyes should be very proud of their efforts.

Under-13s: Blighty 22 def Mathoura 12.
Our under-13s had a fantastic win against Mathoura on the weekend despite only having seven players.
The girls showed amazing teamwork throughout the whole game, and our amazing captain Kaydence Sibraa took initiative, guiding the team with her vocals.
Shelby Huckin worked tirelessly in defence, taking many amazing interceptions that were turned into goals.
Peggy McKenzie was given a role at the start of the game to shut down her player and did it unbelievably well.

Under-11s: Not scored.
This week, the under-11s came up against Mathoura for a great game of netball!
Each one of the girls listened to all the advice from the coaches and took it on board, showing exceptional improvement on the court.
From attack and defence the girls showed their ability to find space, get in front and get their hands over every ball getting rebounds and intercepts.
We are super happy with everyone, and with only a couple of games to go it's sad this season is almost over. Keep it up, everyone!
