Echuca’s A-grade season in Goulburn Valley League has been turbulent to say the least, but the green machine always finds a way to grab wins when it needs it the most and round six was that occasion.

Travelling to Kyabram Recreation Reserve to face the vulnerable Bombers, Echuca came away with a tight, but well-earned victory to remain in the finals picture.
After Kyabram started the first quarter with three goals inside the first two minutes, the Murray Bombers wrestled back the momentum and tallied six unanswered goals to claim the lead.

It was back and forth for the rest of the opening period, but Echuca managed to break away, claiming a five-goal lead at the first break.
The Murray Bombers left the door ajar in the second quarter as Kyabram found its way to get within two goals early before Echuca found its rhythm again, yet the lead was just four heading into half-time.
Rose Byrne was once again strong in goal for Echuca.

Some strong attacking play by the girls in green through the middle of the third term provided some separation from the Bombers, with the visitors snagging 14 goals in a big stretch while limiting Kyabram to six.
A flat fourth-quarter performance by Echuca gave the Bombers a chance to steal it at the death, but the Murray Bombers’ defence held strong to escape with a six-goal win.

The final score was Echuca 44 to Kyabram 38.
The Murray Bombers will get an opportunity to grab another win when they travel to Mansfield to face the 10th-placed Eagles in round seven.
