With 66 teams and more than $17,000 in prize money, and players descending on Deniliquin from all parts including Tasmania, South Australia, Melbourne and many areas of regional Victoria, it truly is the blue ribbon event on the club calendar.
This will be closely followed by the big Fours Tournament on August 30 and 31, for which many of this weekend’s combatants will return.
Most of the visitors will also be competing in the Singles Tournament from 10am today - a knockout competition over 12 ends.
And with generally favourable weather expected throughout, it is a great opportunity for anyone to come and enjoy three days of quality bowls.

The Clear Lifestyle Support Jackpot Bowls again attracted a healthy number of players on Wednesday.
In another close encounter, it was Ian McKenzie and Paul ‘Trapper’ Snare who took the honours with two wins and plus 31 shots.
They were closely followed by Tim Dover and Steve O’Brien, who finished with two wins and plus 29.
Tim McDonald then had his name drawn for the chance at the $2150 cash jackpot, but unfortunately for Tim he had already ‘done an Elvis’ and left the building.
This means there will be $2200 up for grabs after play next Wednesday, with no play this Sunday due to the Classic Pairs.
There are only 13 cards left on the board, so the chances of finding the elusive joker are becoming increasingly more attractive.
