A finals berth may be unlikely for Mathoura, but senior coach Tim McCormick says they can still shape the last two positions on the ladder.
“With our percentage it is extremely unlikely that we are able to make the top eight,” he said.
“In saying that we can have a massive input in shaping the last two positions over the final couple of weeks.
“While last week was disappointing (losing to Waaia) we showed in the second quarter that we could match the top sides.
“Selection will depend on training, but we are not envisioning too many changes to last weeks side.”
Mathoura sit in 11th spot on the ladder with 16 points and will play Katamatite away, who sit 6th on the ladder.
“We have gelled together since last time we played Katamatite in round one,” McCormick said.
“So we will go into this game with a high degree of confidence knowing we weren’t far away at our last meeting.
“We will need to be at our best and hope to finish the year off strongly.”
The Mathoura senior game to be played in Katamatite will start at 2.05pm.
