The season was suspended in late October as flood water covered 12 holes of the course. All 18 holes are open again.
Saturday is the final round before finals, with finals places still up for grabs.
The Wedgies versus Bushwhackers match is likely to have a big bearing on finals places.
The Wedgies currently sit second on the ladder, and while they can’t fall outside the top four, they could fall to fourth with a loss and other results going against them.
Conversely, a win secures a top two place and double chance in the finals.
Sarah Aitken has lead the Wedgies in scoring throughout the year, but she and husband Magnus are unavailable this week. Can the Wedgies find enough scoring with, at best, six players available?
Bushwhackers are currently fourth on the ladder, with a win certain to secure their finals place. A loss, and they will be dependent on other results falling their way.
Ben Littmann, in his Premier League debut, has been the top scorer for the Bush Whackers most weeks; an inspired inclusion to the team by Captain Mark Thomas.
Littmann is in scintillating form having scored 49 points just three weeks ago. A repeat performance will make his side hard to beat.
But Bushwhackers’ failings this year have been their inability to provide consistent scoring support for the red hot Littman. It is something they need to address if they are to push a defence of their title.
The prediction is Wedgies in a close one, keeping the finals hopes alive of those currently outside the top four.
Eclectics and Old Boys are two teams outside the four, with the winner after this round giving themselves an outside chance of jumping into the finals positions.
Eclectics have been lead by the consistent Leigh Chappell and have given themselves a chance to win every week in a season of what might have been, losing two matches by one point on each occasion.
The Old Boys have been a powerhouse of this competition in years past, but perhaps father time is catching up with them because they struggled for numbers each week.
The result of this match may well come down to how many players are on course for each team. Eclectics should take the win and keep their final chance alive.
Par-tee Poppers and Big Ballers is almost a mini qualifying final.
Par-tee Poppers currently sit fifth, two points behind fourth placed Bushwhackers and four points behind third placed Big Ballers, plus percentage.
A win to Big Ballers will secure their finals position and eliminate their opponents.
A win to Par-tee Poppers by approximately 7-8 points will see them jump Big Ballers in ladder position. A win by less than that margin and the Par-tee Poppers will require a Bushwhackers loss in order to jump into the top four.
Big Ballers captain Ross Taylor has lead his team from the front all season, while Par-tee Poppers have the dynamic duo of Jamie Loy and Jenny Adamson leading the way.
It is this one–two punch that likely gives the Par-tee Poppers the edge in this contest, but the big question is, can they achieve the margin of victory necessary to secure a finals place.
Tell Him He’s Dreamin’ have been the dominate team of the competition this season, losing just the one match so far (and by only two points) and sitting clear on top of the ladder.
They have been lead by Col Thompson, but have received consistent scoring from almost the entire team.
They take on the Eagles & Birdies, who need a win and other results to go their way in order to reach finals. Felcity McCalman has again been their best this season, with solid support from Ginny Lange.
If the break in play has any sort of influence over the results in round seven, this could be the match where it means the most.
While form is a fickle thing for a golfer, the Eagles & Birdies were clearly out of it before the break having lost three matches in a row - two of those by double digits. They have it all to play for, and that incentive may be enough for them to take an upset victory.
Ladder after round six: Tell Him He’s Dreamin’ - 20 pts, 108%; The Wedgies – 16, 102; Big Ballers – 14, 102; Bushwhackers – 12, 98; Par-tee Poppers – 10, 95; Eclectics – 8, 101; Eagles & Birdies – 8, 98; Old Boys – 8, 95.
