A highlight of the day was having the fourths team join the senior players for the pre-game chat and warm up.
The fourths were invited back to help the side sing the song after the win.
Lachie MacDonald was fantastic all day, creating many scoring opportunities for Todd Gallagher and Jake Dick-O'Flaherty.
Soon-to-be father Ben Nisbet showcased his footy IQ and skills in a promising display, while Harry Hillier continues to impress in a variety of roles over the ground.
This weekend, the Rams look forward to heading over to Barooga in another must win clash for the club.
Final score: Deni Rams 20.13 (133) def Rumbalara 4.5 (29).
The reserves put in a strong performance at home against Rumbalara, leading from start to finish, resulting in a 87 point victory.
Backman turned ruckman Tom Nevinson put in a herculean performance in the ruck, giving plenty of height and weight and played a really solid four quarter game.
Midfield bull Logan Ives was at his brutal and consistent best in the midfield and resting forward.
Lachlan Marshall and Jayden Caniglia were both really good in defence, limiting the opposition to just one goal and setting up plenty of scoring options going forward.
In the absence of his brother in the midfield, Zac Free relished his role in the midfield and forward line, laying plenty of tackles and set the tone in there from the start.
Utility Riley Draxl also played an inspiring game, performing well in every position he was asked.
Goalkickers for the day included assistant coach Tristan Fitzsimmons.
After spending the last two weeks down forward, he had a big day out with a seven-goal haul.
Free and Ives both kicked two goals and singles went to Draxl, Jackson Campbell and Shane Werner.
Ben Nisbet lays the boot in.
Final score: Rams 14.13 (97) def Rumbalara 1.4 (10).
With a chance to consolidate a spot in the top six, the thirds got off to a great start on Saturday.
They continually took the ball inside 50 in the first quarter, but as has been the case most of the year were unable to capitalise on the scoreboard.
Kicking into the breeze in the second quarter, the boys were able to continually win plenty of the footy around the ground.
With scoring proving difficult, the second half was always going to be an arm wrestle.
Unfortunately Rumbalara were able to make better use of their opportunities to come away with a 20 point win.
Awards: Noah Bradley, Logan Leiper, Jake Herberte, Brodie Park and Wally Hughes.
Final score: Rams 3.7 (25) def by Rumbalara 6.9 (45).
Saturday was not the fourths’ day, going down by three goals to Rumba.
There were moments of good play but overall the boys just seemed flat.
Oscar Marshall kicked two goals, and Toby Rae middled one.
Best Players: Mathew Pitt, Talen Barnes, Tynen Rothe, Henry Raper, Charlie McCallum and Henry Robinson.
Final score: Rams 3.7 (25) def by Rumbalara 6.6 (42).
