The ball was always going to be pinging from one end to the other with two teams keen to move the ball quickly.
The first quarter was even with both teams having opportunities in front of goal.
But Mulwala skipped away to a handy five goal lead heading into the second half.
The game was a lot closer than the score line suggested however, with Mulwala only out scoring Deni in the second half by six points.
It was a fantastic effort by all the players and the Deni supporters were impressed with the endeavour and effort that was shown right up until the final siren.
Putting in strong efforts for the Rams were big man Angus Durnan, the ever-reliable Matt MacDonald and Ryan MacDonald who continues to run all day.
The Rams were also glad to have Zac Lauritsen back fit and healthy.
Special mention to yet another debutant in Darcy Cullenward who put in a fantastic four quarter effort and received an award in his first game.

The thirds came up against a hard hitting Mulwala team.
Deni came out with a solid start, but were unable to convert their chances early.
Brodie Park led from the front and set the tone of intent, and the boys strung together some great passages of play.
However, it was Mulwala that took their chances and ran away with the victory.
It is great to see the Deni team starting to gel despite not getting the result.
The coaching staff are very pleased with the effort the boys continue to show.
This week is another great opportunity to work hard on the track and continue to build on the last two weeks.

A slow start cost the home side with Mulwala kicking five first quarter goals to one.
The young Rams had some chances in the second quarter, but were inaccurate.
They kicked 1.5, leaving a 26 point half time margin.
The second half went much the same way with the Rams going down by 50 points.
It was a disappointing day for the Rams who will look to bounce back against Tocumwal this weekend.
