The Rams are coming off a 14-point win against Cobram, with Congupna losing by nine points at home to Finley.
Rams seniors coach Gary Parson said this week’s match should be another even contest, and a representation of how close the quality between teams is in the Murray League 2024 season.
“It’s a very even league,” he said.
“Every week is a challenge, as you can see from the ladder where all five teams from third to seventh are level on points, including us.
“Congupna is a game clear of the pack ahead of this week, along with Moama, and are on top of the ladder.
“It should be a pretty good game, with both teams trying to consolidate their ladder position.”
Parsons said playing away at Congupna is usually challenging for the Rams, but they may be more suited to the ground’s dimensions this year.
“Congupna is tough to beat on their ground, but both teams are playing good footy.
“It is a bit of a smaller ground at Congupna, which hasn’t always suited our style, but this year we had a good win against Moama on a smaller ground, so it should be good for us.”
This week’s game is shaping up to be a heavyweight contest, with contested football being the key to the match.
“I think this week will be a tough contested style of game.”
