“While not everyone went home with a medal there was plenty of personal best achieved and many new friendships formed.
“Deniliquin Little Athletics Club would like to thank everyone for participating in our carnival, especially after the late date change so we could compete on the cooler Sunday rather than the 40 degree Saturday.
“A special thank you to our major sponsor Oddy Fabrication along with Deniliquin Rams Football Club and Edward River Council, who rearranged their maintenance plans so we could move our carnival.
“Deniliquin LAC is very fortunate to have many parents, ex-club members and members of our community who officiated all day at events, setting up, recording, racking, collecting and serving in the canteen.
“We also rely on participating clubs’ parents/carers to officiate and run events.
“It is impossible to host a carnival without your efforts.”
Deniliquin LAC has already set the date for next year’s carnival, and hopes to see athletes return for the Sunday, November 10 event.
