The Blighty Redeyes continue to improve on the footy field, although head coach Adrian Timmis says it does not always show on the scoreboard.

He said it was the case again on Saturday when the Redeyes took on Katamatite in the Picola League.
Some near-perfect patches of play looked amazing and showed some of the talent we do have.
One particular patch happened right in front of our home crowd where Andrew Simpson, Rushton Springer and Henry Michael continually threw their bodies on the line with tackle after tackle on the opposition.
It drew applause from our supporters, which shows just how much support the team has behind them.
The Melbourne ‘kids’ played some absolutely amazing football for Blighty, with Hamish Webbs and Ari Glover leading the way.
Allan Gardiner is getting better and better every week, even taking a turn in the ruck, and Rushton Stringer was on fire.
Taking several important marks, Aaron Litchfield battled hard all day, as did Hugh Burton and Isaac Suckling.
We just need to bring it for four quarters, and another win shouldn’t be far away.
Final score: Blighty 6.10 (46) def by Katamatite 22.9 (141).
Reserves:
Our reserves side could maybe consider themselves a little unlucky as it seems every time we come up against a side we could possibly beat, the opposition finds a way to put it out of our reach.
Nonetheless, I’d love to have the side that represented us on Saturday out there every week.
If we add Matt Hince and Jake Browne to the side, and get Ash Bain down in the square for us, we could come up with a few wins before the season’s end.
It would give us that team connection by playing together, which I think we are sadly missing at the moment.
Captain Chris Hovenden was excellent, holding the back line together.
Caleb Reid was fantastic, with Blake Charlton playing his first game for us.
Callum Campbell was a welcome return.
Brock Thompson, Dion Winter, and Zac Thompson were also good before we lost Dion, who suffered a head injury just as he got into the game.
We have a chance again this week, so let’s get together and finish the job.
Final score: Blighty 4.6 (30) def by Katamatite 16.9 (105).
Fourths:
The Blighty fourths had a very evenly contested match.
Even with a loss, the team played well, with strong efforts from Pip Bain and William Frost in the centre.
Mitch Bain started to show great leadership in the defence.
Zane Sibraa used his body well to get the ball, with great use of his hip and shoulders.
Goals came from William Frost and Josh Singleton.
Logan Andrews was on the ball all the game and even received a free kick.
Awards this week went to William Frost, Zane Sibraa, Mitch Bain, Pip Bain, Milly Hanmer and Michael Gazzara.
Final score: Blighty 3.3 (21) def by Katamatite 7.6 (48).
Fifths:
Although not officially scored, Blighty’s fifths had another great win.
Katamatite’s little kids has a red hot go.
I’m so proud of how they all go about their game and represent Blighty.
The fifths are a shining light; well done.
It’s great that some of these fifths players have been able to go up and play with the fourths.
These kids are still learning, and I hope they keep up the great work.
