Redeyes work hard against Deni

Danyon Williams flies up for the Redeyes in the contest.

Reserves

It was a tough day at the office for the Blighty reserves team, as we came up against a strong and well-drilled Deni Rovers opposition.

While the scoreboard didn’t fall in our favour, the boys gave it everything they had and showed great heart and determination throughout the match.

Despite the result, there were some solid individual performances.

Zach Everingham led the way with a standout game, showing grit and consistency all day.

Sam Singleton followed with a strong effort, providing much-needed drive and pressure around the contest.

Liam McMillan also put in a great shift, working hard on both sides of the ball.

Plenty to take away as we continue to grow and develop as a group throughout the season

Final score: Blighty 0.0 (0) def by Deni Rovers 26.13 (169).

Fourths

On a very warm afternoon the Blighty fourths started very well, with all players getting involved.

Best player was Zane Sibraa who tried all day along with Helens Fevaleak playing in the centre always willing to tackle hard and get the ball.

Logan Marshall also had a very good first quarter and then in the last really trying to rally the team.

Liam Gordon played one of his best games so far.

Also Harlem Morgan showed great signs of skill and determination.

Degan Morgan playing a super strong game in fullback, stopping many goals.

All players started to show signs in the last quarter of the warm afternoon, which was a credit to them for not giving up and pushing through.

Final score: Blighty 0.0 (0) def by Deni Rovers 18.18 (126).

Fifths

Blighty played Deni Rovers on their nice big ground, playing at 1pm in the heat, safe to say all kids looked like cherries when it was over.

It was a great game and a great day again.

Good job team.

Final score: Not scored.
