In a commanding display of defensive netball, Natalie Sampson and Chrissy Hurst led the charge for Rovers in their win over arch-rivals Tocumwal.
The dynamic duo applied relentless pressure from start to finish, forcing numerous turnovers in what was a fiercely contested match.
The entire Rovers outfit showcased impressive cohesion and discipline, executing set plays with precision and maintaining control of the scoreboard throughout.
It was a well-earned victory that highlighted both their defensive grit and team synergy.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 28 def by Tocumwal 36.
The Rovers’ winning streak came to an end on Tocumwal’s home court, falling to a determined and cohesive opposition.
From the opening whistle, it was clear the contest would be tightly fought, with both teams producing strong passages of netball.
Tocumwal took an early lead and, although the Rovers mounted a spirited fightback in the second quarter, they were unable to halt the momentum.
There were flashes of quality play, particularly through the mid-court, but a combination of inaccuracy, unforced errors, and an uncharacteristically flat performance ultimately proved costly.
It was a tough loss, marking the team’s first defeat of the season.

C-grade: Deni Rovers 59 def Tocumwal 24.
C-grade came out strong, doubling Tocumwal’s score in the first quarter and maintaining that dominance throughout the game.
While the elusive 60 mark remains just out of reach, the team showcased patience and smart movement.
The attackers and mid-courters worked beautifully together, creating perfect shooting opportunities through clever angles and positioning.

C-reserve: Deni Rovers 41 def Tocumwal 22.
After a slow start and trailing by two at the first break, the girls fired back over the next three quarters to secure a convincing win over Toc.
Our mid-court players were instrumental, providing drive, attacking options and relentless defensive pressure.

Under-17s: Deni Rovers 54 def Tocumwal 18.
The Rovers demonstrated maturity, poise, and impressive control across the court.
Amy Holloway was a standout in goal defence, reading the play beautifully and picking off intercepts with ease.
Ruby Pisasale was relentless in her role, consistently turning over possession and applying pressure as a tenacious wing defender.
Lucy Herberte showcased her strength and timing, delivering her strongest leads of the season.
The team’s strong connections and determined spirit were on full display from start to finish.
Well done to the girls on a great performance, and thank you to Tocumwal for a competitive and spirited game.

A narrow victory after a tightly contested match, the girls showed great grit and determination to get over the line.
There’s still a bit to work on at training as we look to refine our skills, sharpen our court play, and rediscover our rhythm.

Under-13s: Deni Rovers 17 def by Tocumwal 24.
The Rovers had a tough game against Tocumwal, with an unfortunate defeat.
Missing two key players, Khoa Unwin and Meg Meharry, the girls were supported by under-11s juniors Peggy Holden and Harper Bulmer, who stepped up and brought a fantastic effort to the game.
The girls were able to begin the game on a strong foot, leading at the end of the first quarter.
Madison Danckert stepped up into WD, bringing pressure and working hard to try and turn each centre pass.
The second quarter saw the girls level the score, with shooters Maddy Woolston and Isabelle Didcock popping up goal-after-goal.
The girls continued to work hard for the entirety of the game, chasing every ball and giving defensive pressure for held balls every chance they got.
The girls are to be commended for showing flexibility and grit on the court in what was a tough and competitive match.

An early, foggy start in Tocumwal didn’t slow down the Rovers, who brought their training to life on the court.
The girls’ skills and game sense continue to develop each week, and it’s clear their hard work is paying off.
Their teamwork and connection are growing stronger with every game, forming a cohesive and confident unit.

Tocumwal hosted an early Minis game this week, providing a fantastic opportunity for our youngest Roos to take the court and showcase their developing skills.
It was a fun and exciting experience for all involved, with plenty of smiles and enthusiasm on display.
