The Rovers delivered a masterclass performance from start to finish, asserting their dominance from the first whistle against the Timbercutters.
The Rovers’ speed and finely polished skills caught Mathoura off guard, setting the tone for the entire match.
The attacking quartet of Carissa Bulmer, Gabby Barlow, Hazel Glowrey, and Abbey Wills executed textbook plays with precision, consistently outmanoeuvring their opponents and capitalising on scoring opportunities.
Defensively, Nat Sampson and Ella Park, supported by Jackie Thorpe, formed an impenetrable wall, relentlessly pressuring Mathoura’s attack and forcing turnovers.
Their stellar defensive efforts provided the Rovers with ample opportunities to convert and extend their lead.
The addition of Chloe Brown injected further speed and dynamism into the team, further enhancing their already formidable lineup.
With each break, the Rovers continued to widen the gap, leaving Mathoura struggling to keep pace. In the end, the Rovers emerged victorious with a commanding scoreline.

Despite the challenging conditions due to intermittent rain, both the Deniliquin Rovers and Mathoura Timbercutters displayed commendable sportsmanship and competitive spirit throughout the game.
In the initial stages, the Rovers asserted their dominance, securing the first quarter.
However, Mathoura swiftly capitalised on opportunities and gradually narrowed the gap, setting the stage for an intense battle.
Monty Jones emerged as a standout player for the Rovers, exhibiting remarkable control and strategic play in the centre position. Her ability to dictate the tempo of the game proved crucial in maintaining momentum.
Defensively, Georgia McCulloch’s exceptional speed and agility proved invaluable, consistently creating turnovers and thwarting Mathoura’s attacking moves.
Meanwhile, Bell Mcilwain showcased her versatility, delivering solid performances at both ends of the court, demonstrating her adaptability and skill.
Captain Georgia Van Lieshout demonstrated exemplary leadership, leading by example and providing a focal point in the Rovers’ forward line.
Her contributions were pivotal in guiding the team through the challenging moments of the game.
As the match approached its conclusion, the Rovers found themselves locked in a tense battle, with the outcome hanging in the balance.

Another strong game by the Deni Rovers C-grade girls this week, coming out firing from the first whistle.
The girls have been working on their full court rhythm and their ability to bring the ball smoothly out of defence, this effort being on full display today.
The defensive trio of Erika Martin, Shané Bothma and Jemma Smith kept the Mathoura shooters working overtime.
Rover’s fitness and persistence shone through allowing them to extend their lead each quarter. Great effort girls, what a way to start the Rovers Ball day.

C - Reserve: Deni Rovers 45 def Mathoura 17.
In miserable weather, the Rovers girls didn’t let this deter them from getting another win on the board.
It wasn’t until the second quarter that they settled, but once they did, there was no stopping them.
Emma East and Kelly Thorpe were defensive dynamite against a body-strong Mathoura.
Abby Whitehorn was a pocket rocket shutting down many passages of play from Mathoura and constantly dominating her opponent’s space.
The team looks forward to facing an always competitive Strathmerton next week and continuing to test their skills.

Under 17s: Deni Rovers 59 def Mathoura 14.
Rovers’ under-17s braved the wet conditions at the Cutters’ home ground.
Despite the mediocre weather, the Rovers girls adjusted to the conditions elegantly and as a result were rewarded with a 45-goal win.
Lucy Herberte and Hazel Glowrey worked tirelessly, presenting the ball to the shooters in stunning form.
They played a disciplined calibre of netball, presenting amazing defensive pressure on Mathoura’s defence.
Braelie Wesierski played a key role in GA being a great assist to the midcourters and shooter.
She moved around the goal ring with ease and shot with precision.
The defence was strong, with Chloe Macknight influencing numerous turnovers, a result of her outstanding pressure and strong hands to and over the ball.

Under-15s: Deni Rovers 46 def Mathoura 16.
Early in the game, the Rovers girls played in wet conditions and had to adjust their style of play.
This didn’t suit them, and as such some inaccurate passing with the netball resulted in turnovers to Mathoura.
The Rovers found their groove in the second half as the weather conditions improved and played their normal game.
Once again great defence and shooting was displayed which eventually led to a win for the Rovers girls.

The Rovers team showed real resilience and determination despite the challenging weather conditions.
Their ability to maintain consistent pressure throughout the game and create turnovers demonstrated their skill and teamwork.
Accurate shooting in the goal circle was crucial, and it’s great that the team has a versatile line-up capable of executing in different situations.
