Stewart ‘Wally’ Bulmer has been made a Life Member of the Deniliquin Rovers Football & Netball Club.

This honour recognised his contributions to the club as a player, coach, administrator and club member for more than thirty years.
Bulmer played 167 matches for Rovers, coaching the Reserves football side from 2010 to 2013, guiding the team to three premierships as well as taking the helm of the Rovers A-grade netball side in 2014 that made it to a preliminary final.
Outside of playing and coaching, Bulmer has contributed many hours both as a committee member in various positions highlighted by his five years as club president from 2015 to 2019 as well as helping the club in less formal roles where needed.
The life membership is only the club’s third in the last 10 years and was bestowed on Bulmer during the Rovers’ 2025 junior presentation day, last Sunday, September 21.
This followed a busy weekend of presentations for the club, with the senior presentation evening being held at the Deni RSL last Friday.
There were several other major club awards presented across the weekend.
For their efforts going above and beyond for the club, the 2025 Arthur Wellard Memorial Club Person of the Year Award went to Simon Stubbings and the President’s Award went to Rebecca Fitzpatrick.
Due to their contributions as juniors, the Wired Entertainment Junior Netball Club Person was presented to Amelie Bulmer while the Dowling Family Junior Football Club Person was presented to Henry Braybon.
The Loris Wills Junior Umpire Encouragement Award went to Amy Holloway for showing development in umpiring this season.
As senior players who contributed to the club throughout the year, the Lindsey Bulmer Memorial Award - Senior Netball Playing Club Person went to Brittany Kirby and the Bond Family Medal - Senior Football Playing Club Person went to Matthew Wade.
The Rising Star Awards for a young footballer and netballer with the most potential to go further in their career were won by Tyson Willis and Ruby Cowley respectively.
