Cowley claimed the fourths Best & Fairest trophy at the weekend with an impressive 168 votes.
He was just nine votes short of a club fourths record set by Alvin Cooper in 2019, when he polled 177 votes.
Cooper had beaten the record set by Raymond Murphy with 138 votes in 2018.
Cowley’s efforts were among many celebrated at the Deniliquin Rovers Football and Netball Club presentations at the weekend.
The seniors were rewarded for a stellar season at a ceremony at the Rovers clubrooms on Friday evening.
The juniors got their chance to celebrate at the clubrooms in an afternoon event on Sunday.
The club also issues a number of special awards, which included a double for new life member and 300 gamer Shannon Bulmer.

Arthur Wellard Memorial Club Person of the Year Award - Alex Glowrey.
Wired Entertainment Junior Netball Club Person - Hazel Glowrey. This is awarded to a junior netball player who does the most for the club outside of playing.
Dowling Family Junior Football Club Person - Stuart Benger. This is awarded to a junior football player who does the most for the club outside of playing.
Loris Wills Netball Umpire Encouragement award - Jemma Smith.
Bond Family Medal for Senior Football Club Person - Brendan Hope. Awarded to a senior football player who does the most for the club outside of playing.
Lindsey Bulmer Memorial Award for Senior Netball Club Person - Carissa Holmberg. Awarded to a senior netball player who does the most for the club outside of playing.

All fourths players who volunteered to play thirds to help fill the team this year also received an appreciation award.
