The A-grade Deniliquin Rovers netball team showcased their supremacy against a resilient Jerilderie side in warm conditions.
From the first whistle, the Rovers asserted their dominance, utilising speed, agility, and precision to outmanoeuvre their opponents.
Sharpshooter Abbey Wills emerged as a focal point of the Rovers’ attack, demonstrating exceptional accuracy and dominance in the shooting circle.
Supported by the dependable Carissa Bulmer, whose mastery of the midcourt and teamwork earned her the prestigious best on court award, the Rovers orchestrated seamless transitions and controlled play throughout the game.
Defensively, Natalie Sampson delivered a standout performance, showcasing her tenacity and agility in intercepting passes and disrupting Jerilderie’s offensive plays.
Supported by Ella Park and Gabby Barlow, Sampson’s defensive prowess contributed significantly to the Rovers’ commanding win.
With the Rovers leading at each break, their dominance was evident from start to finish.
As the final whistle blew, the Deniliquin Rovers emerged triumphant with a convincing victory, scoring 58 to 33.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 56 def Jerilderie 35.
In a thrilling encounter under the warm sun at Jerilderie, the B-grade Deniliquin Rovers netball team showcased their mettle against Jerilderie in a fiercely contested match.
Despite Jerilderie’s strong start, the Roos rallied back with resilience and determination, ultimately emerging victorious with a final score of 56-35.
Led by the dynamic Montana Muldoon-Leetham, who exhibited exceptional drive in attack and adeptly intercepted numerous Jerilderie balls throughout the game, the Roos quickly found their footing after an initial setback.
Muldoon-Leetham’s efforts were complemented by the steadfast defence of Jackie Thorpe, whose reliability proved crucial in thwarting Jerilderie’s advances.
As the game progressed, Olivia Park showcased her prowess in the midcourt, dominating with stellar intercepts that further bolstered the Roos’ momentum.
With a commanding lead of 25-14 at half-time, the Roos demonstrated unwavering focus and determination.
In a remarkable display of leadership, captain Georgia Van Lieshout rallied her teammates in the final quarter, inspiring them to maintain their intensity and secure a resounding victory.
The Roos’ cohesive teamwork and individual brilliance proved too much for Jerilderie to handle, as they sealed their triumph with a convincing margin.

It was another sunny day with a good win against the Dees this week.
The Anzac Day celebrations might have left a mark with a slow start.
The challenge was against the height of the Dees at both ends of the court, but into the second quarter, Nicole Felmingham and Brittany Edwards got their mojo flowing, and they capitalised on turnovers with great accuracy.
The young midcourt combination flowed from defence, making Makhaya Mitsch, Matilda Glowrey and Shané Bothma hard to beat.
The versatility of Lorna Davison, playing at both ends, and Jemma Smith’s efforts to mix it up between circle defence and midcourt gave coach Jemmah Conallin plenty of options.

C-Reserve: Deni Rovers 41 def Jerilderie 6.
It was warm weather for the Deni Rovers girls in Jerilderie, but after a week off with no game at Yarroweyah, they couldn’t wait to return to the court.
The line-up was a bit different to usual when the side of 11 only had six taking the court, so reinforcements were called in.
Carissa Holmberg came out of retirement and was a valuable shooter for the day.
Carissa and Millie Joice made the goal circle look like the place to be, capitalising on all the turnovers the defence got.
Sienna Elphick stepped up from under-15s to help in the midcourt, and star goal defender Prue Meharry had the proud moment of having her daughter Eve Meharry, also from under-15s, take the court with her.
Both Sienna and Eve were great assets to the team against Jerilderie.
Rovers look forward to hosting Tungamah next week.

Under-17s: Deni Rovers 47 def Jerilderie 38.
The Rovers girls turned it on in the sun against the Dees, maintaining their lead throughout the game to come out with a nine-goal win.
Best on court and players’ player Hazel Glowrey led the attack end, assisting Ruby Cowley in GS with great conversion from the duo.
Amelie Bulmer was instrumental with her dynamic play, finding the space and showing her versatility in her first game of under-17s.
Reagan Behsman was back on the court and quickly formed a powerful ring defence connection with Amy Holloway, whose pressure caused countless turnovers.
The integration of both the under-17s and under-15s girls within the team was a delight to watch.
Everyone looks forward to building team strength after a good win.

The under-15 girls got off to a strong start and dominated the game early.
The good start provided an opportunity to switch up positions to test the team’s versatility, but they took a little time to settle.
The conversion rate of the goalies was fantastic, and the desire for the ball was greater than the opposition, with numerous intercepts throughout the game.
A little scrappy at times, but still a solid win.

Under-13s: Deni Rovers 49 def Jerilderie 5.
In a scorching match against the Jerilderie under-13s team, the girls put on an impressive show, demonstrating endurance, persistence and determination.
Defensive pressure was outstanding all over the court, making turnovers for the shooters to convert.
Awards: Aria & Harper – Jorja Woolston, McDonald’s – Zoe Harvey and Subway – Lilly Boyer and Lara Horne.
Under-11s: Not scored.
The under-11s travelled to Jerilderie this week and the co-coach, who had just returned, couldn’t believe the progress all the girls had made.
They displayed constant pressure with hands over the ball, leading into space, taking three feet before defending and accurate shooting.
The under-11s showed they could play any position they’re asked to play.
