Ron Marchetti’s team held the lead until the 12th end when Moama picked up a three, followed by another three and then a two.
Allan Hodges, Ian McKenzie and Chris Frampton clawed their way back to 18-all on the 18th end.
RSL then dug deeper to grab five more shots to the Steamers’ one, giving the RSL the win on that rink by four shots at 23-19.
Rod Reid’s team of Peter Harris, Brain Clancy and Archie Webster had a very low scoring game until they scored a six on the 12th end.
That gave them the lead by three, and they added seven more shots to Moama’s three over the next nine ends.
The Diggers won by seven shots, 20-13.
Unfortunately, Niels Hilton’s team suffered a loss of 25 shots.
Not able to get on the card until the 6th end, a superb Moama side with Darren Yates at the helm were already sitting comfortably on 14.
The Steamers only allowed Lyn Hardcastle, Miro Peterman, Jim Jennings and Hilton ones thereafter on six ends, compared to their 19 shots over nine ends.
Moama defeated RSL, 33-8.
Overall, the Diggers won two rinks, giving them four points, and Moama 12 points, with the overall winning score of 65-51 and one rink.
RSL maintain their fourth position on the Division 2 ladder, with 50 points.
Saturday’s Division 4 team take on the Mathoura Timbercutters at home in round eight of Weekend Pennant.
