Players went down as a group in the RSL bus.
The weather was atrocious, with wind and rain the whole journey but did improve once we arrived.
Starting the day with a few regulars missing, it was always going to be a tough game against strong opposition.
The team of Rod Reid, Archie Webster, Chris Frampton and Allan Hodges had a tight tussle all day.
They were three shots up on the last end and it was looking positive, however Kyabram managed to get two on the last for a 19-all draw.
Niels Hilton, Graham Gordon, Sandra Hill and Lyn Harcastle also had a tight match all day, with both teams being in front at different times.
Going into the last end, they were three shots down but couldn’t bridge the gap. They eventually went down 19 shots to 15.
When Miro Peterman, Jo Chick , John Wilson and Ian McKenzie dropped an eight early in the match, things looked tough for them.
But they didn’t give up and put up a great fight, going into the last end only needing one shot to win.
Unfortunately it didn’t go their way, only going down by three shots on the day.
It was a fantastic team effort by them all, to get so close.
Final scores being 18 shots to 15.
In Weekend Pennant tomorrow, the Deni RSL Division 4 team travel back down the road to take on Kyabram again.
We are looking forward to the challenge and hopefully come away with the win.
Cars are leaving the club at 10am.
Teams are as follows: Rod Reid, Danny Stanmore, Jo Chick and Sandra Hill; Craig Taylor, Archie Webster, Ian McKenzie and Lyn Harcastle; Niels Hilton, Tony King, John Wilson and Jake Glenn.
