After a few weeks of uncertainty, it was all systems go.
Numbers were tight, but we have had a few of our departed players returning so things are looking good.
This season, we have a Division 4 team on Saturday, and a midweek Division 2 team.
We will be building on our numbers over the year, so hopefully we can put in more teams next year.
The Diggers is a great club, and survival is essential both to the RSL and the town.
Saturday saw us take on Kyabram at home.
They are new into the association this year, and proved a bit too good for us on the day.
Of the three teams that took to the greens, Rod Reid , Neville Austin, Ian McKenzie and Paul Connor had a convincing win, 20 shots to 11.
Tony King, Ron Marchetti, Archie Webster and Lyn Hardcastle went down by several shots, 11-32.
Craig Taylor, Niels Hilton, John Wilson and Sandra Hill had a close tussle all day , just missing out in the end to go down 18-20.
In the end it just was not our day, but we will only get better from here .
