Seymour is the sole leader atop the Goulburn Valley League A-grade ladder following the weekend’s round nine matches.
At the halfway mark of the campaign, the Lions have shifted a game clear and firmed as favourites in the premiership market.
But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Ellie O’Sullivan’s outfit.
The Lions survived a scare on Saturday at Moon Oval against a gallant Rochester.
Rochester led for three quarters, but was unable to withstand a final-quarter onslaught from the visitors.
Trailing by one goal at the last break, Seymour was able to find another gear and chalked up a match-winning 16-3 quarter to pencil in a 47-35 triumph.
Rochester brought the fight to the ladder-leader in the first half, highlighted by a 14-10 second term.
Morgan Dingwall was a standout for the host side, along with Charlee and Ella Roulston.
But the experience of Seymour, the 2019 premier, was too much for the tiring Tigers.
Sarah Szczykulski continued her brilliant campaign, while Olivia Barry performed strongly.
