The coveted A-grade singles championship was decided on Sunday at the Deniliquin Bowling Club, when Jamie Shields proved just too strong for Simon Chisholm in a high quality game of lawn bowls.

Shields got out to a comfortable lead early and looked set for an untroubled victory.
Chisholm rallied appreciably in the middle stages with enough impetus to draw level at 12 shots apiece.
Shields steadied from there however, and eventually claimed the trophy in winning 25 shots to 13.

The ladies A-grade singles was also recently decided when Carly Crothers got the better of Joanne Bovell in another high class game of bowls.
Crothers looked to be cruising to an easy win when leading 23-16, but Bovell chimed in with four shots on the next two ends to put herself very much back in the game at 23-20.
Crothers regained her composure though, and went on to record a well-deserved victory 25 shots to 20.

Ken ‘Titch’ Salter and Linda Harris were the best performed players at the Clear Lifestyle Support Jackpot Pairs last Wednesday.
They were the only three game winners with plus 46 shots, while next best were Mark Law and Carly Crothers with two wins and plus 31.
Justin Bourchier then had his chance at the $1250 jackpot, but his unsuccessful attempt means that someone will have a crack at $1300 after play tomorrow.
Justin Bourchier missed out on the jackpot spoils.
