The junior season starts this Sunday with a professional junior coaching clinic and free session for parents about tennis coaching in the lead up to the season starting next Saturday.
The one-day Junior Tennis Coaching Clinic will be provided by Matt Hort from Wagga, and a barbecue lunch will be provided.
The clinic is tailored to support both beginner and advanced junior players, with two dedicated sessions:
• Development Group (ages 5-9) - 11am-12pm. Cost $20.
• Advanced Group (ages 10+) - 12.30pm-2pm. Cost $25.
In a unique addition to the day, a free coaching session for parents will also be offered from 9am-11am this Sunday.
The junior season Hot Shots Community Play Program and Match Play seasons for 2025/26 begin in earnest next Saturday, October 18.
The Hot Shots Program is designed to introduce children to tennis in a fun and supportive environment.
The program caters to three age groups: Red Group (ages 5-8), Orange Group (ages 8-10) and Green Group (ages 10+).
Section 1 provides match play for the more advanced players with a three set format.
Section 1 will run over 8 weeks, with each team playing each other twice. There will then be a grand final on December 13.
Registration for all programs is $100 per player, and will cover the continuation of the program into term one of the school year in 2026.
Registrations are now open for both the coaching clinic, and the Hot Shots Community Play Program and Match Play.

Meanwhile, DLTC is also preparing to launch its next open twilight tennis season, with a 10-week competition commencing on Wednesday, October 15.
The spring competition is a social event, and open to anyone interested in having a hit of tennis and playing on high-class lawn and hard courts in Charlotte St, Deniliquin.
The competition will be a graded doubles competition, with men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. Players of all skill levels are welcome.
Those wishing to play are asked to nominate by today to denitennisclub@gmail.com or phone John Henderson on 0427 814 947 or Clive Gow on 0427 489 490.
Teams will be picked, and all players graded, after the nominations have closed.
The last social tennis competition held at the Deni Lawn Tennis Competition in autumn saw four teams compete for social tennis bragging rights - Deniliquin Newsagency, Legal Eagles, Mitre 10 and Peppin Planners.
In the final round, it was a no-holds-barred clinch between Legal Eagles and Peppin Planners.
The Eagles were able to pip Peppin by one-set, 20 to 19, to win the competition - an achievement for the Eagles team, who are now laying out a challenge to the other teams ahead of the spring competition.
Individual accolades were won by Mitre 10’s Elyse Hood and Legal Eagle’s Jamie Howard and Jack McGrillen for their three sets win ratios.
