Time for the young guns to shine

This Saturday will be the final game of the home and away season for the Deniliquin Rams in the Murray Football League.

The Rams will take on Nathalia, with the seniors and thirds playing their final games for the year as they did not make finals.

The reserves and fourths and a number of netball teams will continue their season journey into the finals.

Being the last game of the season, the seniors will no doubt want to go out with a win on the back of their recent winning streak.

The younger brigade will still be trialled in the midfield to see how they adapt and the more senior players will hold fast in their positions.

Nathalia sit fifth on the ladder with 48 points while Rams are in eighth position on 28 points.

As coach Ash Morris has previously stated “irrespective of the result, the boys can play with plenty of freedom and enjoyment to finish off the year, while trialling new things”.

Losing by the smallest of margins on a number of occasions meant that the result could have been very different.

The outlook for next year will be to bring along the younger brigade with the possibility of new recruits and continue the momentum that they have built in the past month.

Tomorrow’s action will be held at Deniliquin’s Hardinge St Oval.
