With the weather around, a few cricket games were cancelled this week.

Tocumwal’s A-grade and C-grade Red sides were both washed out, and both under-12 games were cancelled.
Playng at Tocumwal, C-grade White met Cobram on the pitch.
After being sent into bat, Zac Dixon and fill-in player Rory opened.
Both players started well, but unfortunately they were both out relatively quickly without too much damage on the scoreboard.
This bought Cam Dickens and Declan Cameron at the crease. Declan managed to stay in for a bit, but wickets were falling quickly around him.
So, unfortunately for the Bloods, it wasn’t their day with the bat, and the rest of the wickets fell pretty quickly.
The Bloods ended the day on 10/65.
In the field, Declan and Zac opened the bowling, and both produced a good line and length, with Declan getting the needed breakthrough in the third over.
Fill-in player Joe and Abdul Kuniyil were the second pair with the new ball, and again, both were bowling extremely tightly and slowed the run rate considerably.
Joe had 0/3 at the end of his spell, and Abdul took some crucial wickets to keep the Bloods in the game.
Abdul ended his spell with figures of 3/15 off 3.
With Cobram getting close to the run-chase total, Chase Dickins came into the bowling attack and took a much-needed wicket on the last ball of his spell.
However, the Tocumwal’s total was never enough, and Cobram passed the run chase in the 15th over to take home a relatively easy win.

The under-17 Bloods took on Cobram at Cobram.
With the skies dark and gloomy, Tocumwal lost the toss and headed in to bat.
Openers Rory Shepherd and Tom White saw off Cobram’s openers, sitting tight until Rory went LBW in the 15th over for four.
Tom had settled in but was eventually bowled in the 18th for 12.
Sam Bennett (3) and Logan White (7) added a handful of runs before both were dismissed, leaving Liam Sutton to hit several boundaries to finally get Tocumwal’s run card looking healthy.
Cooper Mangion (6) and Reuben Haley (2) both came out and supported Liam before a quick march down the pitch saw Liam stumped on a top score for Tocumwal of 25.
Jeremy Packer (9), Toby Wane (1), Jess Bennett (7) and Declan Cameron (6) rounded out the batters for the Bloods, which saw them bat out 36 of the 40 overs.
Failing light due to inclement weather saw Cobram reduced to spin only by the last few overs, but even with this, Cobram bowled tight and straight.
Tocumwal lost four wickets to LBW, with M O’Brien taking 4 for 32 off eight and L Power 3 for 12 off 6 being best for Cobram.
In the end, the Bloods were eventually out for 96.
Commendations to Declan Cameron, who supported Cobram when they were a player down.

Tocumwal’s under-14s played against Barooga at home.
With both teams full of young talent, it shaped up to be an exciting matchup.
Barooga won the toss and sent the young Bloods in to bat.
With Barooga fielding one short, it was great to see the sportsmanship of Ollie East, Arlo Haley and Jack Watson helping Barooga in the field.
Tocumwal got off to a solid start with Lucas Baron and Chase Dickens starting well, facing out the early bowling.
With the wicket of Chase came a couple of quick wickets, including Arlo Haley taking a fantastic catch for the opposition.
Max Thorburn and Ollie East then built well, facing out more than 20 balls each.
Max particularly batted well and would have scored more any other day with a wet outfield, meaning some shots didn’t go to the boundary when they would have normally.
Ollie remains not out on four with the score on 6/44.
It was then our turn in the field, with Chase having Barooga in early trouble getting the edge, which was brilliantly caught by Max in slip.
While we took wickets at regular intervals in the innings, many bowlers’ lengths and lines weren’t quite right, meaning we didn’t fully capitalise on the opportunities available and gave away too many extras.
Luckily, the team was on the field, especially Joel Harrison, who executed an excellent run-out with a perfect throw over the bails for Archie Matters to break the stumps.
The pick of the bowlers was Jack Watson, who was right on the line in his two overs, getting 1/4 through Ava East, and the spin twins of Ollie East and Arlo Haley also bowled some very good overs.
Chase Dickens ended up with the figures with 2/11.
Barooga managed to edge slightly ahead in the end, finishing 7/52.
We will need to work hard to bat our overs and manage to hit our spots when bowling next week to come home with a win.
It was a great effort this week by all players, who played with great spirit and sportsmanship.
