The final game of the 10 team round robin tournament will be played in the first half of this Thursday evening, with the top four then playing off in the finals.
The top two on the ladder will play each other to decide the winner and runner-up, while the next two will be opponents to determine third.
After again winning both their matches last Thursday, the Peter ‘Chief’ Chadderton-led side including Chris Taylor and Lloyd Ritchie are the only ones assured of a finals berth as they are clear on top with 24 points.
Two points adrift is Rob Morris’ team, but they come up against Craig Hillier’s side, which is one of three who are all on 18 points.
It includes Steve O’Brien’s crew, who are drawn to play Shane Laing’s side, who have accrued 20 points.
The other team with 18 points is that of Steve King.
So a fair bit can change depending on the results of the final matches.
The innovative competition has been a very good lead-in to the pennant season, which begins on Saturday.
