Before the season officially starts next Friday, August 15, a free come and try day will be held at the Hardinge St Oval this Sunday.
Beginning at 2pm, it’s great for new families or anyone curious to see what Little Athletics is all about.
Juniors can have a go at running, jumping and throwing to test it out before committing to the season.
While free to attend, anyone interested is asked to register their attendance at https://forms.gle/NtiGPPk5qwe3F9Ps8 for planning purposes.
Season registrations can be made at https://www.revolutionise.com.au/deniliquinlac/registration. These should be completed by August 14.
Little Athletics is held from 4.30pm Fridays at Hardinge St Oval from next week, continuing until December.
The start time will change to 5pm once daylight saving begins.
Deniliquin Little Athletics president Lauren Ryan said Little Athletics is about personal achievements and having fun.
“It is all about being your best, it is not about beating others,” she said.
“It doesn’t matter who’s the fastest or can throw the furthest. It’s about turning up.
“Also, people don’t have to have any previous athletics experience or skills. The main thing is about having healthy fun.”
Deniliquin Little Athletics accepts athletes from ages three to 18.
“Three and four year-olds do Tiny Tots, and everyone else does athletics proper.
“We have a great group of teenagers and older teens who have continued on, and we always welcome more people.”
