The boys were fired up early and Andrew Smith kicked the first goal of the match to give our boys a flying start.
Unfortunately, our boys lost momentum in the second quarter where the Tigers piled on five goals to nil, making for an intense half-time huddle where the boys were urged to show some fight.
To the Rams’ credit, they didn’t let Cobram have it all their way in the second half.
While we have plenty to work on, signs were good that our best footy is not that far off the competition's best.
Final score: Cobram 13.11 (89) def Deniliquin Rams 3.3 (21).
Best players: Chase Bartlett, Andrew Smith, Tom Ives, Tynen Rothe, Tom Rourke, Archer Moodie.
Goals: Andrew Smith, Josh Todd, Thomas Rourke.

Under-12s
Under-12s travelled to Echuca on Friday night to take on Echuca United Eagles in round seven of the GMJL.
The Rams got off to a cracking start, winning each centre clearance and finding Ned Wettenhall in full forward, where he enjoyed kicking four straight goals in the first quarter.
The boys were then rotated through positions for the next three quarters.
It was pleasing to see many of the bottom age players shine, and Jake Taylor and Connor Manson having their best games of the season.
There was lots of good passage work between Nate Fitzpatrick and Will Crossley on two occasions, as well as many selfless hand-offs in the forward 50 to share the goal kicking around.
Ollie Bull and Ollie Dellwo both had a strong second half and assisted the Rams to finish the game off well.
Final score: Deniliquin Rams 18.13 (121) def Echuca United Eagles 0.0 (0)

Under-10s
The Ram Lambs flew the flag again with a telling away showing at Echuca United on a cold Friday night.
Inspired by ex-Ram and now Demons draftee Jack Henderson, who took charge of training on Thursday, the boys showed plenty of razzle dazzle to kick 14 sausage rolls under lights.
The best on ground Wired Entertainment award went to Ned Hussey for his strong hands and slotting a goal.
Other awards went to sharpshooter Willy Eastman with three goals (Cruizin Diner), Oli Hall who went forward and booted three goals (McDonald’s award), and Cooper Farley who continued his good form since returning from injury.
Other goal kickers were Bailey (3), Jake (2), and one each to Leroy and Jed.
Final score: Not scored.
