Cold but fine weather greeted the participants of the Goulburn Valley Croquet Association regional singles tournament, held in Deniliquin on Saturday and Sunday.

Forty players were selected into three divisions and played over both days.
Of the Deniliquin Croquet Club players, only Tony Bull reached the finals.
He went up against Twin City player Rod LeLievre in the Division 3 final, but it was the visitor who took the honours.
Division 1 was won by Wolfgang Klemenz (Drysdale), who defeated Peter Binks (Queenscliff).
Division 2 was won by Bunty Clark (Howlong) after defeating Dave Maher (Rich River).

The club said the tournament was a success both for the club and the town, with many staying overnight.
On Wednesday, in regular Deniliquin Croquet Club play, there were 14 players on the Charlotte St courts.
There were no three game winners, however there were seven two game achievers including Andy Davis, Terry Murphy, Leo Barry, John James, Rex Kernich, Alan Higgins and Mary James.
There were six jump shots, including two by Andy Davis and one each to Brad Fawns, Alan Higgins, Leo Barry and Bobby Murphy.
Winter start times begin from this Sunday.
Players are asked to arrive by 9am to register, with play from 9.30am.
