The DNA committee strongly encourages community members - especially players, parents and friends - to attend and consider volunteering to help sustain the association's activities and future.
DNA provides NetSetGo programs for children aged five to 10, along with netball competitions for 10 year-olds through to open grade.
The group strongly believes junior netball plays a crucial role in supporting children's physical, social, and mental wellbeing.
It fosters community engagement, youth development, local identity, inclusivity, and volunteer opportunities.
Deniliquin Netball Association welcomes players of all abilities, and invites everyone to join in and play or be a part of the sport they love.
Additionally, DNA provides umpires with opportunities to practice and enhance their skills, with the possibility of becoming accredited.
Umpires receive support and coaching from experienced, badged officials to help them improve their abilities and perform at their best.
When the current president, Katie Taylor, was asked why she joined the committee, her response was quite valuable.
"Many children in Deniliquin and surrounding towns don't always have the opportunity to play weekend club netball, or cannot commit to weekend travel away for club sports, and DNA may be their only opportunity to play the sport they love.
“I love being a part of the gateway that offers this opportunity to all kids and players, and I thoroughly enjoy watching players and kids come together to form a great hub and make new friendships.
“Engaging in netball helps children build confidence and develop teamwork skills.
“The ongoing existence of the netball association in a small town transcends mere participation in a sport; it nurtures community spirit, promotes health, and creates a safe environment for personal growth.
“DNA has also had so much success in the past with their representative teams travelling to surrounding towns to participate in tournaments and a yearly championship where players have the chance to be talent identified.”
